It was already confirmed over a month ago that the lead single is solo. Avril has never liked Britney, either. I'm not sure if Britney has ever mentioned Avril, but I can't imagine them being friends at the moment.

It definitely could. It's only sold a little more than 400K in total and Hold It Against Me did that first week. And the release week for Brit's new single seems like it'll be bigger and more hyped than HIAM's release week (which also had a leak) so it's not impossible.
