I live in Brooklyn NOW and have been since I moved out. And I moved in with a friend until I got my own place when I was nineteen. It was this TINY room in East NY. Horrible.

And as for the fight with my brother, the story is way too long and messy to rehash, so to make it sweet and short--he found some very explicit texts that I was exchanging with another guy and showed them to my father. Words were said, punches were thrown and I was out on my own.

Not really. My father already knew I was gay, I just wasn't OUT THERE.

I had been messing with guys all throughout high school, going to gay clubs and **** (woo! I was a mess back then) but it wasn't something I shared with my family. When my father saw those texts, he was pretty shocked and disgusted. He knew I was gay, but seeing that is what really solidified it, I guess?

My brothers didn't really care, but am sure they knew. We were never all that close growing up and when I hit around thirteen/fourteen, I pretty much struck out on my own with a group of much older (gay) kids.
