When "Diamonds" went #1 back in November, Billboard and Rihanna's label announced it SUPER early (like 12 hours in advance ).

I think they did that because it was a record breaking/tying achievement for Rihanna (tying Madonna's 12 #1s).

Katy's 8th #1 wouldn't be breaking any records, but anything could happen. You never know with Billboard these days

I don't think she's announcing a #1 single on TV, that would be so pretentious

she needs to announce something big, like the album cover or a possible collaboration

I think we're getting the album cover and tracklist. I'm not sure that she would be announcing the new single the day after the 1st single video premiere. Roar needs to smash even harder now and not have its spotlight snatched by the 2nd single news.

If she does announce a tour already that kinda indicates that Katy and Capitol are planning a relatively short era, doesn't it? Unless they don't mind she'll be too busy to properly promote singles 3 onwards.

Tomorrow we find out if she's #1,on thursday we get the video and on friday we find out the huge news on GMA. I am ready for all of it!
