21 did Thriller #s for our generation. It is too bad it had to be a songstress to get such a blockbuster era. It would have been more exicting if it was a popgurl who became such a phenomenon.

Well I guess quantifying its yearly sales as a percentage of overall album sales in those years wouldn't be a bad starting point for direct comparison.
Well my main thing is that album sales declined in the 90's too. What would be a main standard of deciding when the sales were at its ultimate peak? Most of the albums would shift up or down a couple of numbers then. The current climate isn't anyone's problem.
