The Queens of Pop Songs Countdown
Welcome to the Queens of Pop Songs Countdown! This countdown will rank the eras of 33 female artists who have left a lasting impression on the pop music scene in America. The eras will be ranked based on points accumulated from songs coming from each respective album. Points will be given to songs based on their peak position on Billboard's Pop Songs chart. Because the Pop Songs chart has forty positions, songs peaking at #40 will contribute 1 point to its era's total, while songs peaking at #1 will contribute 40 points and so on.
Though the main countdown will be ranking the albums of these artists, each update will conclude with a running total of points for each artist. In the end, there will be a final tally of points for each artist. In addition to eras (which consist of studio, compilation, and remix albums), each artist will have up to two additional categories added to their total: collaborations and soundtracks.

That adds up to a grand total of 143 eras! Which will make the top ten? Which will come out on top? And which artist will end up taking the overall Pop Songs crown?
Some additional things to keep in mind:
- The Pop Songs chart debuted in 1992. Artists whose careers predate 1992 will have an unfair disadvantage.
- Songs released from re-releases of an album will count towards the original album. The exception to this are songs released from EPs that are generally regarded as separate eras (Cannibal, The Fame Monster, etc.).
- Songs released from soundtracks will be included in an artist's soundtracks category. The exception to this are songs that are also featured on another album in the countdown (Keep Holding On on The Best Damn Thing, Die Another Day on American Life, etc.). The points will instead count towards that specific album. Also, soundtracks with multiple singles (Evita, The Bodyguard, etc.) will count as their own era and won't be included in this soundtracks category.
- Because several of these eras have songs currently charting (Artpop, Prism, Red, The Truth About Love, etc.), their point totals and ranks will be adjusted when needed.
