Hey Bill, first of all nice to can talk to you. I have 2 questions/requests.
So we all know about Britney's Blackout album and i'm not gonna ask you about what happened cause you aready told us. There's a big possibility Beyonce will break that record of Britney's, for most consecutive #1 debuts, with her next album. But the way that Britney lost her record was kind of unfair since the rule changed mid-way through the week and after Blackout was announced to be #1. So i was wonderin if there's any chance that a) you and Billboard only consider the record being broken if Beyonce's new album sells at it's first week more than Blackout did at it's first week or b) if Britney and her team decide to re-release Blackout in the future just let them have a chance as if it's the original album, without counting it as a re-release so she can have a fair chance to break her own record, unlike the previous time. That's all for now.
Hey Bill, can you verify that Taylor sold 1 million digital tracks in Christmas Week 2012? Because Billboard didn't post an offical article about her although when adding the Neilsen Soundscan numbers for her songs that week, the result was over a million.
Bill, there are always debates on here on whether or not Beyoncé should be given credit for Destiny's Child sales/achievements. For example, can we say that Beyoncé has 9 #1s on the HOT 100 throughout her career? What is your opinion on this?
Bill, do you think "Judas" by Lady Gaga, which became one of her few underperforming singles, could've become a hit if it didn't leak and had a proper release? Or do you believe it was too out there to ever be a hit?
Do you think Janet has what it takes to come back huge? Her last 3 albums (although DJ is one of my faves) were quite disappointing and didn't make nearly as big of an impact as you'd expect from such a legend. Do you think her forthcoming album/era will be able to put her back up there along with the big names or is she gonna be stuck in the 80s/90s forever?
Bill dear.
or if you could just make a general post about R&B that would be lovely.
Write. Anywhere and every where you can. And study the work of those writing the pieces you wish you were writing.
Thanks for your reply! Do you know any good places to meet and mingle with people in the industry in Vancouver? Or anywhere offering internships elsewhere or there?
