Why are people bringing rihanna into this? Rihanna is a different story. She doesn't really take breaks. She's had a single on the charts every week since russian roulette.

You aren't getting it. If Rihanna couldn't do it (factoring her hits), then Gaga wasn't doing it (factoring in her absence). It is a compliment to Rihanna

They said Robin will get around 7 million streams, and "partial week streaming" for Katy is 3.2 million, whatever the hell that means. Maybe the first couple days are 3.2 million, but the full week was 7.1 million streams?

I absolutely agree with you. Having no breaks is not an excuse for weak debut numbers. It's much harder to come back after a media blackout. Just look what happened to Nelly Furtado, Xtina and Avril Lavigne. I'm not trying to shade any of these artists but it should be known by now that breaks can damage the biggest stars.
