I think Hip Hop Star would have been good for Summer 2004. But the four singles from DIL were pretty much the best of the album, and Lose My Breath came out in September of 2004, so it was probably best to let that summer go without new Beyonce singles.

I agree that DIL should have gotten a video, if only for tribute to the era.

And I think Hip Hop Star could have done well. She was coming off HITS and I don't think in 2004 that it sounded as dated/silly. Plus Big Boi was more relevant then. And I'd assume it'd receive a great video since all the DIL videos were top notch.

But who knows

I've confessed this before but:

When Dip It Low came out and I was yet to be a Beyonce stan, I thought Christina Milian was better than Beyonce.

It's never too late, which reminds me....

People didn't like the idea before, but I think it'd be amazing of she re-recorded her hits somewhere along the line. It worked for Tina Turner. It's not re-recording, but how she reworked GMB for Move Your Body was amazing and she sounded so much better. So if she were to do a video for DIL somewhere down the line, she could also re-record the song.

I used to stan for Ciara so much I thought she was better than everyone.

I think if she were ever to do a Greatest Hits CD, to make it more interesting (and make it sell more) it'd be great if it was a 2 disc where Disc 1 is the studio versions, and Disc 2 has the same track listing but re-recorded with an updated style similar to how DC did This Is The Remix: new beats, new vocals. I wouldn't want them necessarily remixed in the sense that they are all dance songs, but for example, have Crazy in Love be a ballad, Halo as a reggae song, Love on Top as a cooing slow jam, etc.

DIL only had 4 singles and sold over 8 milli and this was before the digital era. Could you imagine what would have happened if she released more than 4?

i heard somewhere that BTINH's backing instruments isn't really going to be like that and it was supposed to sound more urban.
