So this is what needs to happen:
Late august/first week of September finalize recording and film music video.
Attend I heart radio on September 20-21 and intro Katy and miley performances.
Announce album title, single title and confirm Vegas while her team sends out a press release. Talk about the vibe of the single, album collaborators and announce tickets going on sale November 29th.
3 options for single releases
1) september 24...the Monday following the festival. Will get a few weeks of sales becore her feature with miley. Follows circus era format. Can use 1st single 2nd single before album release.
2nd choice...October 1
Top of the month after robin and Katy and em die down.
Pushing it close to mileys release but it can geneate 3 singles before her album.
3rd choice...October 15
7 wks before December 2nd and 6 weeks before November 25.
Four weeks of holiday sales and a 2nd single will most likely not be released until after so sales from hiday wont be split between two songs. RCA can also use iTunes sales to gauge gp reception of certain songs.
I prefer a Tuesday release on radio and Monday on iTunes with a lyric and audio video released to spotify simultaneously...if video is filmed in late Aug/early September then that too could hopefully garner 10-15m views.
They'll probably released to iTunes and radio both on Monday or Tuesday but:
I don't want her losing a day of sales since she doesn't need radio to release her song the buzz and fans will take care of Monday sales. I also don't want her to chart on two days of airplay...one day can have her chart at 98/99/100 or no debut and then she can either shoot to #1 or have the highest rise to #1.
I feel like it will go like this
October 22- Katy
October 29-Katy #1
November 4- Katy
November 11-Gaga
November 18-either one direction, eminem or miley
November 25-most likely one direction, em, rihanna, mary j xmas album, bieber,beyonce
December 2- Britney
December 9- miley hopefully
Threats: 2nd week sales of one direction and eminem
Beyonce has Nov 9-30 blocked off but I don't see her releasing. Well know if rihanna is releasing by nnxt month. I don't see bieber doing it either but there's speculation.
Em hopefully doesn't come out until 2014.
So with billboard charting year end as the 3rd week of November as the last charting week hopefully she gets a Dec 2 release.
