Alicia Keys is one of the more memorable girls in modern-day R&B, so no she is not a P!nk, who's actually an underdog in pop music.
She is kinda P!nk in a sense though... She doesn't garner much media attention like P!nk. She exists, but it's like she isn't there. But at least P!nk does better with her tours. I can't understand how Alicia her tour numbers are so abysmal, when she's an iconic R&B legend (kinda).
It's so remarkable that GOF (single) has sold 3M copies in the US.
I remember it had sold 1.4M copies with the Nicki version before Pop latched onto the solo version & she had began promoting it more & more, with the solo version taking over & the Nicki version falling.
Why is it not? That's like saying being memorable in rock, country or hip hop makes you less than. It's good that pop fans think they're above other genres, but that's not the way it goes.
And that's not even the point. She was referred to as the "P!nk of R&B," which implies that she's forgotten in R&B, which she isn't.
Who cares about media attention? This is like the only board that cares about that. She's successful, breathing and able to pay her bills. She's not a pop star, so I'm not even certain why it's all expected of her.
