Wow you all really don't get it. Her singing live will not be pivotal for her garnering respect. In theory your points are valid. In reality, not so much. Lol at ppl saying she should retire of she's going to continue doing the same thing shes been doing for how many years. The same ppl that call her lazy when somethings are not lazy expect her to dedicate energy into prerecording a lot of her stuff to fool ppl into thinking shes doing something she's not when a headline about her lipping will mot damage her career or deter her fans. She can sing live this entire era and will still be known for lipping. Much like she's been fine for 5 years and ppl still question her sanity despite having gone on two world tours without relapse and the fact that bynes was held for an extensive period oftime after her 5150 hold for serious mental issues despite britney only being there for evaluation. Ppl will always drag the worst stuff. What's going to shut more ppl up is her continued success and evolution in her music...not just babysteps and an occasional sidestep. Madonna, MJ, Janet, mariah, jlo, usher, beyonce, etc. Have repeatedly lipped and its the performance that is top notch that makes it excusable.
The army is hilarious today. I guess the Katy vs gaga thing is wearing on ppl

It's not possible you believe that lipping to the CD audio = pre-recorded live vocals (something that EVERYONE does nowadays), ESPECIALLY when it comes to the media attacking her.
And even so, we were not only bothered by the backlash she gets, we, as fans, want MOAR from her, and it's annoying that she doesn't do it when we know for a fact she CAN.

Anthony as I sad, in theory I agree with the point...its just no realistic. There's no doubt in my mind that she can sound halfway decent dancing and singing like she didduring itz...even if she's more engaged this era I think promotion and the music will improve but I just can't see her going live. I'd love it but I can't see it. Of course I don't consider lipping and prerecorded the same thing. My thing is if she prerecorded...like a jlo, beyonce, Chris Brown etc. Do you honestly think the media WON'T attack her. Its been proven that she cant even spit on a sidewalk without TMZ coverage yet other artist can do worse and they get a pass. For some strange reason I could see her doing mostly prerecorded vocals and the media attacking her for really trying to fool us...when so many do it and they get a pass. It's whatever...as I said, I prefer her to sing 3 ballads live, prerecorded her arm flailing choreographer numbers and lip the "intense" choreography. But in reality, it will probably end up black and white. Ppl will always associate her with lipping but I'd like for ppl to praise her music for more than it being catchy. I was in college during the in th zone era and that's why I associate my stanning with that time because I was going through the same thing as her. People really respected that she brought it musically and were surprised at how flawless itz was. That is what is going to overshadow the easy jabs.
Anyways its whatever. We will have to agree to disagree.
This back and.forth was better than any fatte female convo or ranking albums for the umpteenth time

Yes, they will attack her no matter what. But it's a different scenario and, like I said, she has to think about us as well, the media shouldn't be and, according to what she's said thousands of times, isn't what she cares about.
Just one thing: she isn't even "decent dancing" anymore, and that's one of the main reasons why the GP and the media... well, attack her for lip-syncing these days.

Even a performance on a huge award show with pre-recorded vocals, her usual dancing these days and just a bit more energy would do her so well and get some of the GP on her side.
But she seems to be ignoring them ever since VMAs 2007 happened, I really just can't imagine her ever performing at an award show, even after BBMAs 2011.

slw84 just doesn't get it, it's not about the media attacking her at all. It's about making her lip-syncing a bit more believable, will everyone believe that she's singing live? Of course not but it's sure as hell better then lip-syncing directly to studio versions. End of.

I'm optimistic about a AMA performance this year, TBH.
Right now I just think she has VMA stage fright, but ever since the BMA 2011, I believe she could perform somewhere else again...
...Even if part of me also thinks the only reason she accepted to do the BMAs is because she wasn't alone.

If she performs at an award show, it should be the EMAs.
One because she'll definitely be up for an award (S&S will get a ton of noms and she might even get one for Pop artist again depending on when the lead single comes) unlike the AMAs and two because it's broadcasted all throughout Europe where she's been struggling and needs some serious promo.

Most likely fake but everytime some stuff like this came out just means .... SHE'S COMING
I'm not hoping S&S nominations for any awards MTV would snub it again.

Oh, the EMAs.
That would be a dream, and considering how much she enjoys doing promo, it's the ideal thing to do: just one performance at the EMAs would be enough to put her name around the whole continent again.
