Is Oops! the video you would introduce Britney to your little nephews and nieces with?
This is the list I'd enslave them with:
1. Baby
2. Stronger
3. Slave
4. Toxic
6. TTWE
I just realized what an amazing Britnevolution list that is.
Gyal it goes deeper than that.
Her videography in its entirety is about evolution from a teen girl to a woman.
Baby one more time era...cute bubble gum youth oriented girl that was about fun and dancing.
Oops...good girl with a wink starting to become more flirtatious while also addressing her current state with lucky
Britney era...doe eyed innocence wanting to explore and be more sexual like in slave and also teen and angst pre rebellion with not a girl and Overprotected
In the zone era...her college years (mine too) being grown and getting into experimentation with life and love and partying
Gh Mp era...rebellion and burnt out from the scrutiny of the media.
Someday...introspective peek into her enjoyment of becoming a new mother
Blackout era...her f the world self destructive girl gone wild time
Circus era...a compilation of her strengths while address her current state of dealing with thes reprecussions of madness.
Femme fatale...a look into her mysterious ways...I don't know I cant sell a popsicle to a lady in white on this one. I'd say the theme could have easily been executed throughout with inside out and big fat waste as videos. Instead we basically have videos showing what she's learned, letting us know she will be here until the end of time and that she wanted to go too a place to get her ff on.hopefully the videos will mix grown woman fun with introspection and taking control of her destiny.
Then her next era should be about being in control and having freedom and independence
We know lots of things. Much more than with Circus and FF. We know the album will be out by the end of the year, we know it will probably be NOV,DEC. We know a lot about producers, general direction. We know she is writing.
With FF we were waiting for something to be released in Q4 2010, but nothing happened.

the thing is that only hardcore fans know..i dont think that someone who likes britney but isnt bothered with atrl and stuf knows these things...
for example gaga and katy they all have announced when the lead sngle and album is coming .. so more people know about it .....
if is announced one week before the lead single ..it will be a little rushed u know...not that its gonna change a lot the sales etc but as a plan and a strategy is better if they announce it long before ...
if it is something like frozen it will not be original
Clock me.

Why would I think that? I love We Found Love too. Hopefully she can bring some ideas to the table, maybe co-direct. I don't want another dancing video. Something like the Sweet Dreams footage from the Circus tour would be awesome.
Femme Fatale (Original Concept)
The direction of "Femme Fatale" was changed from Britney's original urban concept.
Britney started recording tracks for the album, as well as new tracks for "The Singles Collection", in July 2009. She was also in talks to collaborate with different producers including Danja, Corte Ellis, Sean Garrett, Scott Storch, Rusko, and Polow Da Don, and it was rumored the first single would be out by spring 2010.
In February 2010 it was reported "A rep for Britney says - contrary to MTV's reporting - there has been "zero discussion" of a release date for Britney's next album. Britney Spears' seventh studio album was at first rumored to drop this May, but it appears the Brit circus won't hit town again until June." (February 23, 2010) link2.png
Britney had a meeting with Danja and Marcella Lago in January 2010. She had also recently recorded with Scott Storch. link2.png
During a live chat with The Outsyders in March, K. Briscoe said there was a meeting with Britney in January to discuss the album. She confirmed a release for September to December, and also said Britney wanted the album would be more urban. link2.png
In April 2010 an insider said "Honestly I don't think being at the top of the charts is a concern to her. I don't think she even cares about numbers anymore. She wanted to do the euro dance pop thing, but she had something else in mind to. I can't say until I get the greenlight. Sorry. But yeah, even tho she likes the euro thing this album is her labels doing and I definitely don't expect the "old" britney to come back [right now] because her original concept for this album was so different to this". "I can't say! But I know what the new album will sound like, but I wish she had gotten to do her original idea." They also said it would be different, "but her TRUE fans would've loved it." (April 29, 2010)
Darkchild, who was also working with her said "Britney fans are gonna be so happy in a few weeks", hinting about the release of new music. However this was denied by Spears' manager Adam Leber, who stated, "No new music news right now." (August 4, 2010)
Two nights prior to this Michaela Shiloh, who works with Darkchild said they were having a late night session with Britney.
Sony Music Brazil then said "the forecast is for December" and said a single would be released soon. (August 6, 2010)
It seemed like Britney was ready to promote (photos here and here) and did a few magazine shoots and interviews around this time. There were again rumors of a single being released in September 2010 but this didn't happen.
Ryan Tedder said "Unusual You", a midtempo ballad from Britney's previous album "Circus" was being used as a starting point for some songs for the album, and commented on Britney being an innovator.
"I know that 'Usual You' off the last album [Circus] has been tossed around like, 'Use this as kind of a jumping off point,' " OneRepublic frontman and uber-hitmaker Ryan Tedder told me last night at Ralph Lauren's Big Pony Collection fragrance launch event at the Chateau Marmont hotel." "he says Spears producer Max Martin is considering a song he produced with Dan Black. "It's mind-bendy and trippy," Tedder said, adding, "I applaud the label for saying, 'We're not going to do what's always been done.' I think Britney's such an innovator. She needs to be in the forefront, you know what I mean? You can't come out with something sounding like someone else." (October 3, 2010) link2.png
A report about an R&B song recorded for the album titled "Pleasure You" then surfaced, giving more evidence to Britney's urban concept. Although it's existence was denied by her management, the song leaked two years later.
"A new track from Britney Spears upcoming album has been leaked months before its planned release, RadarOnline is exclusively reporting. The pop sensation plans to release Pleasure You - a three minute tune in which Spears stays true to form and sings about being submissive, a servant and doing whatever it takes
to please her man.
The track was played to RadarOnline by a source connected to the singer. The leak has infuriated record bosses at Spears' label JIVE, who were stunned when informed of the unauthorized release. "We are totally unaware of the song being leaked," a JIVE rep told RadarOnline. "We don't know how her song or any other artists song could have been released. We're looking into the issue." One verse of the track is particularly colorful where the pop star sings: "If you want to get rough in that lay on your back, I got the max suddenly I'll pull you through whatever just to pleasure you."
The song beat is soft and slow, curiously, like that of an R&B song - a monumental shift for the pop starlet." (October 25, 2010)
Soon after this Britney's A&R Teresa Whites left Jive (Britney's label at the time), returned to Columbia Records and did not have any more involvement in the project. It was around this time Dr. Luke and Max Martin were brought in to executive produce the album.
Teresa immediately began work on Beyonce's "4" album after this. It's speculated some of the songs on the album were originally intended for Britney. Many of the producers on the album were also initially going to record with Britney before this happened.
In September 2010, it was announced that Max Martin and Dr. Luke would be co-executive producing the upcoming album in the coming months.
After this, Britney's manager said the album's recording was only starting despite it being known that Britney had been recording for awhile and was already in contact with many people to collaborate.
"Possibly off to the best start yet" and "We have some amazing tracks. No release date set". (October 4, 2010)
In early November, Dr. Luke said he had not yet started working with Britney, but he was confirmed to have worked with her later that month. He also said he wanted to stay doing "what works" rather than letting her experiment.
He stated "mainly what I want to do is...what I've done that works. What we've done that works. I also want to make sure it sounds a little different. In some ways, I want to get harder...maybe a little more deep into electronica. Grimier." We're early in the process."
A year before this Britney's manager Larry Rudolph was working on various projects with Dr. Luke, including searching for a new female group. Their partnership at the time could also be one of the reasons why he was able to force his way into taking control of the album.
Although Britney later confirmed she recorded at least 50 songs for "Femme Fatale" the majority of the songs that appeared on it were recorded from December 2010 to March 2011, with the album released in March. Some were also initially intended for "The Singles Collection" but were not used.
Some of the collaborators who were set to work with Britney spoke about this.
One producer said "Like they've just employed Dr Luke, who's a really big guy in the music business, he's the executive producer on all of Katy Perry and Ke$ha's stuff and he's been put in charge along with Max Martin." "They're executive producing Britney's album, so there's no way that the album's not going to have hits on it." (December 2010)
Rusko, who was going to work with Britney then said "A lot of production work is done on speculation." "A few other producers did the same, but in the end they decided to just go with Dr. Luke. It's a shame really; I think we made something different and exciting, but that's the name of the game!" (January 29, 2011)
Another producer commented saying "Dr Luke is exec prod and he locks in locks out whoever he likes."
Ester Dean said Britney wanted to record her single "Drop it Low" for the album. The song was produced by Polow Da Don and fit the urban concept Britney wanted. It can be listened to here.
Danja, who worked on a majority of the "Blackout" album and a few songs on "Circus" talked about how Britney wanted the album to sound when they met for it a year earlier and also confirmed she specifically wanted it to be more urban and not dance.
Britney Spears Going For A More 'Urban' Sound, Danja Reveals
"Britney, I don't have too much news, but I'm always creating something," "She still has songs to cut, but we'll see what happens." "I just took my track level up. I just wanted to make sure it's still hard-hitting and still that same energy that people heard, but very today's time," he said. "So we'll see. I don't know what the project will end up being, but we'll see. We did have a meeting like a year ago, and they wanted it to sound urban, hard-hitting, not so much dance, but just that similar sound." Danja also said "he has been in conversation with her about any potential songs that might be included on her still untitled album". (January 14, 2011)
After the album was released an insider also revealed her concept for the album being changed by her label and management:
"I Wanna Go, Criminal and Up N Down were recorded at the same time as 3. Everything else from Max, Luke & Friends -- Till the World Ends, Hold It Against Me, Inside Out, Seal It With a Kiss, Gasoline, (Drop Dead) Beautiful -- is from the second half of 2010.
Most of the album was put together in late 2010. Britney didn't even meet Dr. Luke in person to record until very late 2010. The original concept for the album was apparently to include a lot of mid-tempos, and maybe something with a harder hip-hop edge. This was apparently Britney's idea, and Jive even let her start recording some songs, but they didn't really like how it was turning out and wanted something more conventional/radio-friendly", which could explain the lack of writing on this album. "Remember the writing camp? Apparently everything was eventually scrapped as the album switched gears toward the album's current incarnation.
The album really was originally going to be released in late August but they felt uncomfortable with the album as it was and decided to go in a new direction. Remember when Darkchild said that Brit fans were going to be really happy in a few weeks? Of course he'd be the one to speak up: his material was more similar to the original vibe of the album." (May 1, 2011)
Summary:
Based on comments from legit insiders and producers who met with her it's thought Britney wanted the album to be urban and more experimental, but when Dr.Luke and Max Martin took over production duties almost any of the songs by other producers were rejected in favor of songs by their team and the direction was for the most part changed to electro dance pop.
"Pleasure You", an R&B song leaked from the "Femme Fatale" sessions is also evidence of Britney wanting to go in an urban direction again before being forced to change it (see Leaked Tracks for more info).
When a report about Britney planning to use the song on her upcoming album surfaced in 2010, Britney's official site and manager denied it and claimed the song didn't exist despite the report being true.
It's also speculated the sound of the album was forced due to Jive Records merging with RCA the following year, which made them want a radio friendly album with mainstream producers that would potentially guarantee success without taking too many risks in order to maximize their profits before this happened.
This also happened to an extent with her "Circus" LP, with Britney describing it as having an urban vibe, working with many hip-hop producers (including Lil Jon, Sean Garrett and other songs with The Underdogs) and writing a lot but the album being changed by her label and management to be more 'safe' for her comeback.
Though she's written for all her albums Britney had previously taken creative control of "In the Zone" and "Blackout", doing some production and writing a majority of the former and executive producing the latter. Her "Blackout" LP also was seemed to be somewhat similar to how Britney wanted "Femme Fatale" to sound.
It should also be noted that Britney had recorded many hip-hop and urban songs for previous albums "Britney", "In the Zone" and "Blackout" when she had creative control.
The change in direction from Britney's concept for "Femme Fatale" could also be one of the main reasons for the album's lack of promotion.
Collaborations & Misc.
There were several other notable details that give more evidence to Britney's original direction of "Femme Fatale".
Other evidence of an urban direction includes rapper Gucci Mane and his manager both confirming Britney was in contact with him to collaborate on a new song before her manager denied this.
During a live chat producers The Outsyders, who had a meeting with Britney a year prior to the album's release said she would be working with a few rappers for the album. Britney had previously done several hip-hop collaborations and remixes before this.
Ester Dean also said Britney wanted to record her single "Drop it Low" during the album's early recording sessions.
"And then Britney [Spears] wanted it," she said. "During the demo [Polow Da Don] kept telling me, 'You've gotta believe it' as I was singing it. A week later he asked if I wanted to hear my new single."
To introduce someone to Britney I'd have to pick 15 videos that tell her story, her journey, her evolution...

Lucky...
Slave...her innovate urban pop
Not a girl...crossroads into becoming a woman
Overprotected...teen angst dealing with said transition

Everytime...her emotional provocative video
My prerogative..her burnt out rebellious...uh oh don't do it video
Someday...her slept on tribute to motherhood
Piece of me...her f u in your face phase

Voila...you have turned them into a stan...full fledged but not platinum card holding until a full year of staying on ship.
Bie of course britney wanted to go urban. Shes a trend setter. She worked with Rodney and he made some urban songs for her. He claimed they were universal and ww level; songs like trouble for me, up n down, he about to lose me, how i roll, big fat waste, were songs that were more the urban pop direction. she wanted to do it before everyone did it...I.e beyonce trying her hardest to have 'depth' with 4 and other artist going more retro urban. She wanted to go 90s urban but modified. Unfortunately, Dr. Luke slipped through the cracks and convinced her team that she'd have more impact setting the dubstep trend than bringing urban back to pop. He was right but the era as a whole suffered since it wasn't what she wantd.s
I know she will set more trends this era. Can't wait to see which ones.

This whole article is what I experienced from 2010 until the release of Femme Fatale. I had told all of my friends that Britney was going for a more urban route this era and that Femme Fatale was going to be similar to In the Zone and Blackout. I am still disappointed and even a little heartbroken that Britney's original idea got thrown out. Most of us stans had kept up with all of this and were really excited.
