Not that Jolie needs a lead Oscar (usually it has a negative effect on your career, see: Halle GoldenRasp- Berry and Convict Reese) but I'm predicting she'll win one in 2020.

Idol wont end till Season 17, and Seacrest already said hes staying till the show ends (I believe)

And that's why they are still pushing this AI wagon + the ratings (which is tumbling faster than MiGAL at the Billboard Awards). But I don't see much of a career for Phillip Phillips.

They need consistent players, like Kelly and Carrie. They don't even acknowledge the show anymore.

Taylor didn't have a big opening, though? Unless I'm mis-remembering, I'm pretty sure it was the lowest for a winner up to that point. As far as album sales went - Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia, and Carrie all went at least 2x Platinum with their debuts (7x Platinum in Carrie's case, lol). Taylor barely broke Gold.
