"Dance" has always been dance music that is mostly produced electronically and can not be played live (other than the DJ standing there bopping his head).

But aren't there sub-genres that just fall under the umbrella - Electronic Dance Music?
It's kinda like how NJS, Funk, Neo-Soul, Hip Hop Soul and PbR&B fall under Rhythm & Blues, and Alternative Rap, Gangsta Rap, Crunk, Snap and Trap all fall under Hip Hop.
I always find it confusing what falls under EDM based on ATRL definitions of it, so I just call it dance or dance-pop.
