I think the term "pretentious" better applies to Madonna stans who inflate their own sense of stan self worth by exaggerating Madonna's accomplishments.

If you look at Lady Gaga's lyrics as a whole, they're really not that meaningful. How is it showing any artistic growth if she's constantly relegating herself to pander to pop radio standards with catchy hooks and catchphrases for maximum commercial success potential? A TRUE risk would be trying to change radio with some non-hooky singles. And in her videos, she relies too much on this sort of over-the-top Weird Al Yankovic gimmicky tone. It seems she's plateaued as an artist.

There's only a few M fans here calling her pretentious. Everyone else isn't even into her , they just share the same opinion. If every single person who doesn't lick her ass 24/7 is a madonna fan by default then wow.. that would be quite the day.

Madonna's accomplishments are all over the media, metacritic, records, etc, it's not just her fans who post them. I could post hundreds of articles and interviews praising Madonna, but it would be boring, maybe you should look them up.
