Carson Daly is a p*ssy and he couldn't tolerate the fact Britney's team have rules.
Call me crazy, but I'm in favor that certain questions are forbidden or "not approved", Britney's in a different condition than most artists, she is easy to drag, and perfect for tabloids because of her 2007 meltdown, if they don't control the questions all the journalists would be asking her all the time about her 2007 year, which I'm sure Crason Daly was crazy to do.
The infamous question in Europe that was forbidden about Miley Cyrus being a possible succeesor of her or something like that, I think they rejected the question because it was irrelevant, each journalist has a certain limits of questions for example 10 or 15 questions per journalists, I'm sure they disapproved the question for not contributing for absolutely anything they were promoting, and they suggested to ask for a more useful question, not a big deal about it.
and I think Britney was more relevant back then pre-FF era, than now, her Candie's campaign was actually pretty successful, her Glee appearance was a big deal, and the fact she didn't do that much was actually an attractive mystery that contributed with the hype of the era.
right now , Yes she was more present in the Media, but that doesn't mean it was for good, some people must have thought, great she ended as a featuring act / reality TV star. I never considered X-factor a good idea, I don't think its appropiate work for A-lists. she definately downgraded herself when she did it.
