EDM definetly isn't dead. If anything, true real EDM has become more popular than ever before right now. It's the watered down EDM songs (that Luke, Martin, and basically every other big name produce) that flop now.
Zedd and Calvin Harris are getting more hits now than before, and Swedish House Mafia also had a huge smash for the first time. Same goes for Avicii right now.
Eventually, their music will become watered down. That's why it's better for some artists to stay "underground" or your best kept secret.
