I actually thought the first Silent Hill movie made less sense for people who have never played the games (which I had) than the 2nd one. These movies are kind of effective in their feel, but overall they are not well received because they specifically cater to the gamers for the most part and are not as well developed as they should be. For what it's worth, I think the 2nd one (despite Jon Snow from Game of Thrones' AWFUL acting for some reason) has a higher rewatchability factor.

same. honestly when i saw the first one i was like wtf?
i had only played the first SH game though so i was expecting a dad but it was the mom instead. it was just weird.
Jon Snow's acting was SOOO bad but i kinda feel like thats the way it was supposed to be. i felt like the girl who played Heather was amazing and she got the character and look perfectly.
i dont know, i liked it and i hope they make another one with the Dad looking for the mom in SH.
I wasn't too sure about it at first but the ending... there really aren't any words.
