I forgive her, and I genuinely do not think she has anything against black people and wanted those remarks to hurt people, I truly think it was an honest mistake and while it was terrible, she's only human. She shouldn't be "ruined" for it (not that she will be... Look at Chris Brown and everyone else that was going to be "ruined")
BUT
I'm white and not black so I don't think it's fair for me to judge what she said when it doesn't personally affect me the way it does so many people that she offended. I wonder what Oprah thinks of all this...
And I know this isn't a laughing matter, but black people LOVED Paula Deen. Ask any black person who watched FN and 9/10 they'd tell you Paula was their fave. The irony.
Paula turning on us is like if Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake went on a racist rant, to a bit of a lesser extent though.
So much ignorance on the last page.
Let me just bold this for ya'll cus clearly people are missing part of the story.

She called one of her employees a ****** and that's how her old ass got in this entire situation in the first place. She also said that she wanted to have a slave plantation themed wedding for her son in which blacks would be dressed up as slaves serving all of the guests
And on top of that she admitted to making remarks about gays and jews as well, but you guys are running to her defense?
Like I said earlier, just like she has the right to say whatever she wants to say, Food Network has the right to be embarrassed by her actions and fire her. Simple as.
It's obvious with the network fired her. Whether you disagree with the title or not, I thought it was sort of established that's what the network was suppose to do. Even if they genuinely wanted to keep her they'd receive negative backlash that could damage their business
To me, all this did was inform me that she was a hot ass mess that did something deplorable, I laughed at the jokes clowning her and ****, and it probably was a sensible move from FN to cut her from a PR standpoint.
And even though FN cut her now, Food or even another network will possibly pick her right back up once this mess calms down. To me, while it was idiotic of Paula to do that (ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING SOME OF HER FANBASE IS BLACK) , There are more pressing issues for me to worry about ('Voter Fraud',The disproportionate # of black men in jail,Gangs,Blacks killing each other,That abomination Chief Keef and the like call 'music' being popular at the clubs, etc
Hell ****ing yeah, I can't possible see how anyone can defend this racist woman from the usage of racial slurs, a slave themed wedding, mistreatment of staff etc..... Then again racists flock in the same feather
I think this Paula Deen hating bandwagon is so over the top this is a woman who was born in 1947 and was raised in Georgia. CLEARLY she's going to have somewhat of a prejudice against blacks... she was a child and teenager during the civil rights movement. Odds are her own family was racist and that influenced her.
I just can't comprehend that people act so surprised by this. The things she said weren't even that awful. I'm not condoning racism or anything but I don't understand why people are surprised that an old, southern woman has said racist things in the past. And things that she's said, like in that interview where she talks about her black friend, she probably doesn't even think sound bad when she says them because they were okay when she was growing up.
And now her show is being cancelled? that's just too much. It's sad that the media overblowing something like this can ruin someone's career because that's an incredibly poor justification. If it was one of their chefs like Giada or Rachael Ray, I'd be more understanding, but this is just dumb.
Whatever, I'm sure she'll have a great retirement with her millions of dollars.
chile how can you cape for a woman like that and f.u.ck. everyone that agrees with your delusional statement. I cannot
I'm not even gonna go in on the poll results because it isn't limited to just ATRL.People in general (ESPECIALLY on the internet) tend not to have sympathy or compassion for their fellow humans and/or find them inferior and its quite sad. I gave up on people in general a long time ago.
