I hate old horror movies but i really liked A Nightmare on Elm Street. It was even better than the remake.

I watched VHS 2 with my cousin last night and I think it was quiet good. But I would have preferred less gore and more supernatural stuff.

I enjoyed Sinister for probably...half? Or at least the first 2/3's of the movie. I think it fell apart pretty quickly for me. I'm a big fan of "less is more" in horror movies and the second they started showing all the kids running around in the hallway and all that, it kind of took me out of the movie and the suspense was gone but overall I did think it was a pretty good horror movie...especially when compared to all the others that have come out recently.

And yeah, there was just something about Insidious that I didn't like. It's another one of those movies that seemed okay towards the beginning and just quickly fell apart for me. I'm also not a huge fan of crazy fantasy elements going on in a horror movies. I mean, ghosts and supernatural stuff is totally fine with me but the ending of Insidious is where I draw the line.

Insidious was amazing

oh my GOD uh, I wouldn't recommend spending money on it. I won't say don't see it...but I will say don't waste any money haha

The Conjuring next

I don't care that it was just another home invasion movie. In fact, that's basically what I wanted. The concept is definitely awesome and I would've been here for some type of action/suspense movie in which the whole country is going insane and people are trying to hide and survive through the night. I know that's basically the plot anyway but I mean, I'd rather follow a poor person with nothing to protect them than a rich family with a security system.

However, I expected a home invasion movie and I'm not mad about that. I'm mad about the execution and where they went with the story. It was so disappointing and lame and there were so many better places to go with it.

I agree with you. The execution was poor. But what I meant is, I wish they would've developed the idea a bit more. You know, how did the whole thing even happen and all that jazz.

at the fact that it was all of these things. The Strangers, with all of its flaws, still remains completely unbothered.

I feel like we basically have the same thoughts about this series. I was pretty disappointed in the first one when I first saw it but I kept going back. I thought the second was a step up for sure and I really enjoyed the third one a lot...which I was so surprised. I thought they'd all get more terrible as they went along.

However, the fourth one was absolutely horrible in every way possible. It's one of those movies that's so bad I get mad just thinking about even watching it. I walked out of the theater so angry, I wish I could get my money back still to this day. I do hope that they learn from their mistakes on this one and make the fifth a bit better.


I love The Strangers. I recognize there's some dumb **** in it and it's not a perfect horror movie but there's so much good about it. The whole beginning is so amazing at building suspense and tension and a feeling of dread and that first scare where she pulls back the curtains is amazing. I think the movie starts to fall apart when it gets cliche and predictable...aka her running and tripping and hurting her foot and the friend pulling up...and you know he's just gonna get shot there seconds later

But regardless, that movie is EASILY one of the best horror movies in recent memory...and absolutely ***** all over The Purge.

Yeah, I gotcha. I definitely agree with that too. I think more background should've been given and the movie should've been a little longer. I read on IMDB someone was saying they wish it had started like a week before and I totally agree...more background on basically everything would've been nice.

Tape 49: 7/10 (Decent scares)
Phase I Clinical Trials: 8/10 (Creepy and effective)
Ride in the Park: 8/10 (Hilarious and kind of sad)
Safe Haven: 9/10 (Freaking AWESOME and completely INSANE!)
Alien Abduction Slumber Party: 8/10 (Fun. I wasn't scared at all, but it had great energy and was really fun to watch)

VHS2 completely took a huge **** all over VHS. I cannot wait for VHS3!!! I hope they have at least 6 films in it. Safe Haven really set the bar high. Talk about an IMPRESSIVE horror short. I can only imagine where the next series of films will take us. This is so exciting as a lover and participant in film. They have started something really special here. I am trying to develop my own tape!

The part from insidious where he goes after his son is so juvenile, but the first hlf is scary.

I watched V/H/S/2 last night, and I have to say it was disappointing, but not as bad as the first. The cult segment was great, and really the only one that I felt was worth watching. I was so excited for the Alien Slumber Party whatever, and dear god was it awful. I understand the style it was being shot in, but **** you could barely see a damn thing.

Also, the only time the humour worked was in the Zombie segment. Every other time they attempted something funny it felt so unnecessary and lame. I would rate it a 6/10.

I do agree that they could've done more, but considering their budget, I think they gave us a pretty enjoyable Alien Abduction Slumber Party!
