No it's not, the Catholic Church is directly responsible for the deaths of millions from AIDS due to them constantly condemning condoms in countries where many medical facilities are controlled and highly influenced by religious organizations. Pope John Paul II has a lot of blood on his hands and I hate how that aspect of what he did is always brushed aside, yes they do a lot of charity but they also did a lot of damage, they don't cancel each other out. And charity can be damaging too because you create dependence and it's not the same as investing in infrastructure and education to give people the tools to move forward themselves. Plus the Catholic Church has done **** all to combat exploitative and unfair trade laws that are the real root of poverty in many of the countries they work with.
