Most of that AirPlay is urban and rhythmic. Less than 10 million of that is coming from pop. It was in the 80s a couple of weeks ago, so it is on the rise, at least.

I will never get how a weak airplay to sales ratio means payola... I mean the radio plays are there, whether they are paid for or not It just means that radios decided to pick up on the song and it didn't click with public.

We have no knowledge of radio stations and their program directors using iTunes as a means to spin songs. If that were the case, for example, Cher Lloyd's "Want U Back" should have been a bigger radio hit since it spent nearly two months in the iTunes top ten last summer.
