Yes. It DEFINITELY was already #1 before its video got released. And I remember the week the video got released both versions of the song were in the top 3 on iTunes. Love the Way You Lie got #1 before its video got released as well.

E.T.'s video was released as a "reward" for getting the song to number one, if I do recall.

Yeah, that was the Billboard issue but counted towards the week of March 21st - 27th.

Rehab did much better than Thinking of You and TTT is not a flop, doesn't even have video. Her flops are We Ride and Rock star 101 and her US flops are California King Bed and If It's Loving...

I'm pretty sure this one song she released in 2011 was a complete disastrous flop, but I can't remember it's name. We Loud... no? We Found? Was it called We Found Gloves? IDK but it debuted outside the Top 10 so it's a mess.

umm E.T. had two versions, the album version and a very recent REMIX featuring Kanye West, don't try that

It still got #1 on the Hot 100 before it got a music video, and the Kanye remix was released quite a while before that. The week E.T. climbed to #1 was actually the same week that the Kanye remix got deleted (or as Katy said on her Twitter, "abducted") from iTunes.

I don't know why people are trying to deny that E.T. got #1 without a music video, and that the original was as high as #2 on iTunes, it's all well documented on the Internet.

Pour It Up is top 20 on the Hot 100 with no On-Demand streaming, no music video, another single out, no live performances and minimal pop radio support, which is arguably even more impressive than what E.T. managed imo. But I think Talk That Talk could've done better. It got overshadowed by the Birthday Cake remix, and Beyonce had her baby so Jay-Z couldn't film the music video.
