To be fair it was on Rob Sheffeild's list and he's a Britney stan, and radio wouldn't have touched it.

Besides we all know Up N' Down should have been 4th single

it has a very unique sound from everything else ...

It's a brilliant pop song, but it wouldn't have smashed

If I'm not wrong, she was single for a while during the ITZ era before she met Kevin , (she f*cked with a few guys, but nothing serious, she was highly single for like 2002/2003) , she met Kevin in 2004.


and "3" is a heavily underrated single of hers ..... for me its one of her top 12 best singles of her entire career.

He wasn't wrong though. HIR is radio friendly enough to work on radio. It also wasn't geneic which would have helped the album sell.
Femme Fatale floped because it was full of geneic stuff. There was no single that stood out from anything else on radio.
Britney was always ahead of the trend with pop music, but with FF she went too generic.(besides HIAM)

Up & Down is so basic/geneic that it would've probobly smash for like a week then free fall. Nothing "smash" about it.

Many, MANY people seem to be under the impression all Britney's singles have big debuts and then drop like a rock the week after, only because that, tragically, happened with HIAM, so I won't hold it against you.

It's one of her best albums. It flopped because Britney was lazy and didn't promote it.

I can perfectly find a way to deal with some silliness such as "it's underrated" or "it's a great song", but better than Circus, Womanizer, Amy and Radar?

well its not great but its SUPER catchy ...

For me is not better than "Womanizer" or "Circus" ... but its definately WAY better than "If u seek amy" and "Radar".

Circus > Womanizer > 3 > If u seek amy = Radar


"3" is underrated , however I still think "Womanizer" is a better and stronger single, and "Circus" is her best single from her "Circus album", another underrated one (both music video and song).
