It's not that I feel misunderstood, it's just that I hate that I have to feign a smile and move on to another topic before they start asking questions and having me explain the joke making it ten times less funny than before.

If you don't get it, you don't get it and I get it, but if you don't get it, don't try to get it when you didn't get it the first time because you'll never get it, get it!?

No. Because they not important enough to understand it.

My friends usually get my jokes but sometimes it goes over their heads and I'm just like, "Oh forget it". It's just as bad though when you say a joke and your friend laughs and then goes and tells whatever joke or story you said, to someone else and then they take credit for the joke. I'm just like....

I don't know, that really gets on my nerves.

One of the reasons why my close friends and I are so close is because we have the exact same sense of humour. I'm not the one in our group to necessarily crack jokes, I leave that to my other friends. But we always laugh at the same things, whether it being only inside our group, or because of other people/things.

That happens to me all the time, so...

If it is someone whose personality I hate then I try not to talk to that person anymore. However, when it comes to talking to people I respect and/or get along well, I hardly ever make jokes. In those moments, I prefer doing things like over-emphasizing and making analogies with situations I am talking about. It never fails.

I love dry humor -- The Office, Parks and Recreation -- and a lot of people I know are more in your face, tell a joke people so most of things I do they don't really get. It's vice verse though because I don't like in your face, on the surface humor so most jokes people make, I'm like .

my issue is kind of the opposite. people laugh when i dont mean to be funny.

So awkward. After that, I usually just let them say the jokes.

Sometimes people think I'm a bitch because I'm really sarcastic and they don't get it, especially when I'm being vulgar
But what sucks is when you're not trying to be funny and everyone just laughs at you when you are actually being serious

"Well, this is the time you're supposed to laugh"

Yes, my confidence shoots down and I kinda go quiet.

Unless there are other people watching us, I just shrug it off

To take things positively though, just think you're more intelligent than them because they don't get your humor.
