If this were any other song at any other event, I don't think it would bother anybody. But this was at President Obama's second and final Inauguration and it was the National Anthem. It's kind of disrespectful. She could have at least sang along with the backing track.
on big ceremonies most artists lip synch cuz it's sometimes hard to do rehearsals. but i guess the fact that she just stood there and it clearly was about the vocals and the song and not the choreography or the show is what makes it really bad. the national anthem is mostly sang live, I assume, maybe it's part of the tradition.
of course the initial plan is for her to lip the superbowl. only rockstars don't lip the Super Bowl. but maybe now they wanna prove that she can sing live brilliantly as well.. so i actually think the chance is higher she WONT lip synch the SB now and do damage control

Can't lie. Kinda disappointing. Her vocals sounded so flawless and it seemed live to me. But this will teach her never to do it again at such an important event.

Beyoncé doesn't sing live 100% ALL the time. Anyone who says different is deluded. The fact that y'all act like it's criminal however, when she does pre-record proves how superiority is expected from her. Keep THAT up!
Given the fact that most of the people in this thread trying to act slick stan for regular lip sync-ers, I find this whole thing hilarious. Should this even be true, which I doubt highly, it changes nothing. She still got the most attention and praise.
