I have a gift card to Chapters and have no idea what books to buy There's so many that I've heard are good and so many that are so highly praised as well

What books (preferably either comedic, dramatic, adventurous or a combination) would you recommend?

I've heard of all of them except The Casual Vacancy. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a movie now, right? I may have to check the book out

Dramatic, I suppose East of Eden. This is my favorite book.

Comedic: Mindy Kaling's book. I read it in a couple of days and found it enjoyable.

The Book Thief is a good book that all my friends have raved about and has some interesting writing and it's heartbreaking.

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

Cloud Atlas is cool. Its 6 nested stories throughout time and they're all good, different, and interesting.
