How about you (as yourself) speak for just you.

A lot of gay men are who have said something about this, and by that i mean siding with perez, are not being overly sensitive, but rather hypocritical. I am sure they use this term ****** in a very similar way as well as insulting lesbians. I've been at too many clubs where i hear the word **** thrown around as well as ******. She was definitely wrong for using the word, but i am sure their isn't a filter when the n-word is dropped by these same people or the word **** or the word tranny which is typical lingo of the gay community. The white gay community and those associated to the white gay community (men of color who fall into the idea of white gay) are an odd community who like to cross identities and jump back when they need to step off it in order to call something. They also seem to like to break down women who are black i.e. Nicki and Azealia.

I agree, but a lot pop stars really support the LGBT mainly for the PR purpose, though.
The fact that they are so vocal every time they help the least bit

Yes, some were. I can understand why the word is offensive, but Azealia has made it clear that she's not a homophobe.

1) The fact that a large portion of Azealia fanbase is gay men makes her use of hateful anti-gay speech even more appalling.
2) It's not "being too sensitive" to express displeasure with a corporation that proudly opposes your equal rights and pledges money to ensure you stay unequal.

What people need to understand is that your opinion =/= another person's opinion. What might offend you might not offend others and vice versa. To say some gays are being "too sensitive" over someone using the word "******" is absurd. "******" is a derogatory word, a homophobic slur, meaning that gay people have the "right" to be offended.
I think what a lot of people are missing is that, despite her half-asses explanation, Azealia called Perez a "******" to attack his sexuality. Perez being feminine is part of his sexuality, how he chooses to express himself. You do not call a gay person a "******" for any other reason than to attack who they are, and it's funny considering Azealia is queer as well. I hate Perez and believe he deserve all the verbal lashings he gets, but Azealia not only crossed the line, but also chickened out. You go for a gay man's sexuality when you have nothing else to go for.

I'm gay as hell and it doesn't bother me. I use the word frequently too.

Yes, it was just a moment of anger, I don't know why people makes such a big deal of that word, I honestly couldn't care less about any word used to my or any other gay boy, there are worst things to worry about.

I really don't understand why everyone is coming for her about it when she has voiced her support of homosexuals as a group in every way possible, even being bisexual herself. Does that give her a free pass to say whatever she wants? Of course not, but why is everyone getting so upset when it's the only time she has ever done anything remotely against homosexuals as opposed to showing support for the community every way she can. If anything it comes off as petty and transparent and makes people stereotype gays as being overly sensitive crybabies more than they already are. I could see if she had never shown support but ya'll are acting like she joined the Westboro Baptist Church. She said a slur. She apologized. She tries to move on, but you just won't let her. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she stopped supporting homosexuals altogether because so many pretended that she was just some other homophobic person when she clearly isn't.
Just my take.

Would you have this same reaction if an entertainer publicly attacked a black person with the N-word? Honest question.

That's not the same situation. I assume you mean a White entertainer but that doesn't represent the situation. And no, I wouldn't really care if a Black entertainer called another Black person the N word. Especially if that Black entertainer had done things in the line of what the NAACP does. The situation you gave is a completely different and doesn't even slightly represent what happened between Perez and Azealia.

a lot of people are mean to other people for those kinds of things; not just gay people. Take your prejudice somewhere else please.

No they aren't.
No oppressed group is being too sensitive until they are no longer oppressed.
And since that isn't the case right now, and homosexuals are oppressed all over the place, they have every right to be offended or hurt even when someone makes a bad comment. Although Azaelia could be the biggest friend to the gay community, by publicly doing it on twitter she makes it seem okay to use the term, and unknowing, or prejudiced people would then do the same. So she's really just furthering the oppression.

What she said was NOT ok but I can't at people who pick and choose who they are offended by. There are people who have said MUCH worse than what she said and no one says anything.

If you can openly say c**t and n****r and it's variations, you can't be upset with her using f****t or any other such words.

I agree with this so much (although I don't think **** is the same as the F word or the N word). that's why I don't use them. I won't even use the R word
