This week:
Added: I think nothing, I'll update that if it changes.
However, there are 12 videos in competition for the 10 spots so there will be a few videos alternating in and out of the countdown.
On Deck:
Fugiya and Miyagi- "Ankle Injuries" (Who the hell is that?)
Hell Yeah- "You Wouldn't Know"
The other one is Aiden but it is in competition with the 12 videos for the 10 spots.

The following comment concerns not only MTV2 Rock, but the state of the channel in general. MTV2 was a channel worth watching from 1996-Feb. 2005, because it was all videos and music and music-related shows (or mostly). The MTV2 Rock Countdown used to be 20 videos and 2 hours from 2001-Nov. 2005. Then to 10 vids and 1 hour. And now, a block with no host, however, they did add a classic vid or two in the MTV2 Rock Block. The best years of 120 Minutes were on MTV2, especially after Jim Shearer took over. In May 2003, 120 ended with a bang, and 5 days later, on late Friday Night or techincally Saturday morning at least in the Eastern Time Zone, was relaunched as Subterranean, which unlike 120, was 60 minutes long. Shearer was host until February 2007, when the MTV Management had the TP for their bungholes to ax the VJs. MTV2 really declined after Summer 2004, and especially the February 2005 illegal relaunch of the channel. MTV2 has improved somewhat in the last 3-7 weeks, with the reinstation of Latest and Greatest, only this time with annoying video credits and the stupid 2-headed dog logo.
My plan to improve MTV2 USA is to:
1. Reinstate the VJs, as Jim Shearer's presence is sorely missed.
2. Remove the 3-bar in middle of the screen video credits and reinstate the normal MTV-Style video credits (lower left hand corner).
3. Ditch the 2-Headed dog logo and reinstate the MTV2 Boxes logo w/MTV block logo (in upper right hand corner of screen).
4. Revert the weekend Rock Block back to MTV2 Rock Countdown with 2 hours and 20 videos. It is not fair for MTV2 to have a 2-hour, 20 video hip-hop countdown and the Rock Block to be a straight-up video block. Also, change the daily rock name from T-Minus Rock to MTV2 Rock Daily and make it 90 minutes.
5. Reinstate Chart2Chart back on the lineup and make it 2 hours, plus, make it all genres.
6. Reinstate Extreme Rock, the daily version of Headbangers Ball.
7. Reinstate Old-School Hip-Hop.
8. Create Old-School Rock Hour.
9. Reinstate MTV2 Soul.
10. Reinstate The Definitive.
11. Cancel The Andy Milonakis Show.
12. Reinstate Spankin' New on MTV2.
13. Reinstate Back In Play
14. Reinstate Control Freak.
15. Make a policy called "No non-music-related show shall air for more than 3 hours at a time, similar to MTVtr3s".
16. Between the hours of 2:00AM EDT and 11:00AM EDT, MTV2 shall have a video block with a mixture of new, semi-new, old, and rare videos.
17. Show Unleashed premieres twice a week, with 1 rock and 1 hip-hop video.
18. Reinstate 120 Minutes on Sunday nights/Monday Mornings, and change Subterranean back to Friday Night/Saturday Morning.
19. Other than Sucker Free Sundays, Revert the M-F version of MTV2 Sucker Free Hip-Hop back to MTV2 Hip Hop and bring DJ Clue back.
20. Reinstate $2 Bill on a monthly basis.
21. Put Jamey Jasta back on Headbangers Ball.
22. Show Beavis and Butt-head and older MTV shows, provided they don't overrun the show.
23. Reinstate Buzzworthy and Handpicked.
24. Reinstate Monster Mix.
25. Cut out the annoying sharts.
History of MTV2:
Primary genres of music, though other kinds of music could have played:
1996-2003: Alternative/Rock
2003-2004: Mix, though leaning toward Hip-Hop
2004-: Hip Hop
Eras of MTV2 (M2):
Phase 1:
1996-1999/2000: M2
1999/2000-2000: M2 transition to MTV2.
2001-2005: Boxes logo era of MTV2.
Phase 2:
2005-: Dog Logo Era.
2007-: No VJs Era
The 1st three eras mentioned were MTV2's golden age.
Bring MTV2 back to the way it used to be! I care about it, and I watched it since 2002, and noticed 5 years later it was significantly different from the way it was intended to be.
Rock used to be king on MTV2, however, now it is 78-22 hip hop-- but did you know that Beck's Where It's At was M2's (now MTV2) first video ever to be played?
MTV2 also aired the infamous A-to-Z Video Block at the start of 2000, and failed at 2 other attempts.
Bring back old-school MTV2!!!

Tonight's Rock Block had hip-hop on for the last 12 minutes of the show. Rock Block = Rock Only!!!! MTV2, don't you know that this is not the MTV2 Hip-Hop Countdown or Sucker Free! I swear, ever since MTV2 relaunched in 2005, it has slid hard big time. Bring MTV2 back to the way it was intended to be. Hip-Hop is a no-no on Rock Block.

I like this guy. Control Freak and Extreme Rock definitely need to return, as well as the Buzzworthy and Hand Picked videos. I never noticed they were gone, probably due to my disinterest in MTV/MTV2 over the past 2 years. MTV2 Rock was so good back in 2002 and 2005 [I don't remember much of the other years.] Ever since they cut it down to 10 videos, without doing a thing to MTV2 Hip-Hop, it's been awful. I hope somebody from MTV sees this thread.

They need to bring back the Box Block, and the entire American The Box channel in general.

I used to think like you then I gave up knowing that I can't change what MTV2 wants to do. The two headed dog logo I don't mind and I actually like they way the video credits are shown (actually I think it is the best way that has ever been used by anyone). But other than that, I completely agree with you. MTV2 should be all about music since we already have reality on MTV.

BREAKING NEWS: MTV2's Rock show has been renamed You Rock The Deuce effective 08/04/2007. This means that more classic and semi-new videos (early 2000s) will dominate the show, along with recent rock videos. Also, unlike TRL, this rock show will air on Monday-Friday, instead of Monday-Thursday. The viewer(s) and not the MTV producers choose the vids = Good! A similar proposal named youRL flunked.
