Why are you showing some old receipts that already expired? If you want, I can go that road too. First off, those movies didn't gross so many money because of her. There were other actors, producers did the dirty job, JLO's appearance was almost disposable.
Why are you showing her Youtube, Facebook and Twitter receipts? Shakira has more likes on Facebook than JLO's Facebook and Twitter mixed together. On The Floor helped a lot to make her relevant on Youtube, while Shakira has many videos that hit over 100 million views and she still slayes JLO on Youtube.

What? 
First and foremost, the director of the film knew already that he wanted Jen to play the role. He had worked with her in "Mi Familia", & knew she would be the best fit for the role.
I mean let's be honest nobody could have ever done a better job than Jennifer Lopez, the movie was MEANT for her. It was god sent tbh. She had the looks, she had the body type, and she was a professional dancer. She put 110% into that role, and it is still to today one of her best roles she's ever done. She did that.
Now, I respect Selena for putting Jennifer Lopez on the map, but she did not make her a bonafide international superstar, let's keep it 100, Jen's music career did that. The film "Selena" did not make her a household name with most Americans it was only within the Latino community that knew of her. But at the end of the day she still gives her respect, she even tributes her in her shows, and that is that. Why are ya'll so bitter?
I'm a strong believer that if it wasn't the film "Selena" it would of been something else because she had ambition, the drive, and the dream. It wouldn't have been the last for her had they rejected her. Hell, it could even took years. But I'm also a strong believer that another actress would not have done the work as she did, nor would have been as famous as Jen became because she didn't stop there. She continued to work, got herself a record deal, released a popular and successful fashion line, released a successful line of perfumes, and so on.

Internationally, they're sort of equal (Thanks to HDL and World Cups for boosting Shakira's popularity) - meanwhile, Shakira will always bite the dust and remain irrelevant in the US. That's where J.Lo truly beats her. So I think, ultimately, J.Lo wins.
