ugh i hope this doesn't flop. she sold out with "girlfriend" just to get a hit, but now she's going back to her roots with this single and it's not gonna do good.

How come good quality singles flop, while stupid lyrically songs rule the charts????
Can someone answer this? When You're Gone is one of the best ballads I've heard in my life, let alone, Avril has done. Lyrically it's an outstanding song that touches you in your heart. And if you watch the music video, it really does affect you emotionally. I cried when I first saw the video. I couldn't help but cry after watching the video and just hearing the song.
People in US have horrible tastes in music. While Buy You A Drank and Summer Love and even Party Like A Rockstar climb the charts, good quality songs like Sober, When You're Gone and hell...even A Public Affair fall down the charts faster than a rock tumbling down a steep incline. It's like WTF?
BUT......
We have to remember we are talking about the Radio here. Who wants to listen to a slowed down watered mellow song on the radio while driving down the street with your windows down? Or what if you are working and you are sick of doing your job! What would make you finish your job faster? When You're Gone or Party Like a Rockstar???
Yeah....but still though....mellowed songs should DO slightly better then what they are doing right now. At least make the top 20 is all I ask. But yeah...we are talking about radio here.
Obviously...this single will not flop...its too early for avril to flop...GF is still on the top 10 after 17 weeks in the top ten...so this affects WYG, everyones is still liking GF...
People in the US have good tastes in music...not all single should be everyone's favorite...but i guess Sober deserves that #1 spot on BB charts...
SHUT UP. when youre gone WONT FLOP cause it gaining MAJOR radio spins (#34 oon mediabase and yesterday it was #40) AND it went from not being in the top song on itunes to getting to 92 in ONE day....BELIEVE ME. THE US IS DONE WITH GIRLFRIEND AND IT BEEN LOSING SO MUCH RADIO. GIRLFRIEND did the best out of every song avril ever did. so of course noone thinks it can live up to that but well just have to wait and see...........its gonna get top 10 in us.. i know
Fan or not, I would disagree with this. Avril has been a big name in the music industry since 2002, despite a few flops (Losing Grip & Nobody's Home). Her albums have done amazing though and she has some of the biggest pop songs of the decade.
