I agree, they never officially confirmed a relationship and kept playing the "friend" card when they were asked about it, what if they were friends, with now and then some benefits? Then it's not Rita's fault if she looked further.
Beside that, it's just weak to handle this through media, he needs to grow up and handle his stuff beside them. There are always two sides to a story and this way he makes it hard for Rita to even respond, since she gets all the dirt.
I don't even have a problem with her and I like some of her songs, but if this is true... wow.
