Y'all it doesn't really matter what the press says.
Even if people thought it was bad, her career ain't gonna be over because of that.
However i'm gonna say i hope she improves more generally. I'm only noticing now that her vibrato is a reason why i like a lot of her 2008-2010 performances better. It might be technically good and well done, but it just sounds unpleasant for me at times.
I'm no expert but i wonder if you're capable to change your vibrato... is it based on how you use the technique?
Edit : but then again, it sounds good on the low notes, so it might just be a bad technique for her high notes.
She started off amazing tbh, i loved the beginning it was much better than any of her previous ones. Just the high notes weren't good which destroyed it.
Oh and guys don't forget she's the only Disney star (minus Xtina if you count her) who can sing the national anthem. Her peers would do way worse.
And she's one of a few pop artists so ...

she can do MUCH better. her best perfomance was the 2011 one imo.
