I think right now nicki is struggling , her album has so far failed to sell one million copies in the US not to forget its disappointing WW sales, she had like one hit song ( starships) which didn't help her career at all being a pop song. I am not saying she's flop but expectations were high for her after the debut album, she may have become more famous but she lost a lot of other things regarding her music career.

Yes she did care. She wouldn't have promoted Run The World so much if she didn't want it to go top ten. Clearly she was gunning for that #1 but flopped. Single success may have not been her main priority but to say "I don't think she cared that much" is a reach.
