Katy Perry has yet to cross that mark with 576674 hit singles. BTW & loud are just around that mark. The only male that has sold nearly as well are Michael Buble & Bieber.

BTIKM is a good adult contemporary song but thats just my opinion, his other single sucked.
He has great ballads, and club songs yet their never picked. ex: Soaked, Strut, A Loaded Smile from FYE, Naked Love, Outlaws of Love, Shady and hell most of the album for Trespassing.

i love adam lambert but he's just not revolutionary and his last album was pretty generic. talking about a gay musician (because that's what it needs to get it more into society..of course, success) who's making a great sound, something completely new, amazing videos, great style, iconic things.

Eh, its not really just their look their music keeps sounding like the same lines with different beats. GaGa as a main example writes and puts out a plethora of songs with different meaning to them. Her music sounds fresh and doesn't sound like a rehash.

To echo what GreasyBruce said, if stans want to argue that he's unique because he's openly gay and dresses flamboyantly, they need to realize that just being gay and making basic pop tracks (with a rock flavor) alone doesn't make you a good or even interesting artist.

A male artist I find interesting who makes colorful pop music and quirky music videos (and just happens to be homosexual) is SSION. It's unlikely he'll ever break mainstream though (even if his track "Listen 2 the Girls is used in a Gossip Girl commercial).
