That's the closest we'll ever get to Britney going back to a sound and theme reminiscent of those on her first 3 albums. Even though, I love In the Zone, Blackout, and Femme Fatale, I honestly think they are too sexually oriented and it was nice for Britney to go back to form in Circus. It was a pure pop record and wasn't as sexually oriented as Britney's two records released prior to it. I think that's one of the main reasons Circus performed well. Even though Blackout and Femme Fatale are better records, I believe Circus sold more because it gave a glimpse of Britney's music from early in her career, Shattered Glass being a prime example (Soft vocals, heartbreak/empowerment theme similar to those on Oops!...I Did It Again).
