I haven't watched that performance in years. It's not as atrociously bad as the media made it out to be but for some reason I can't watch the whole thing.
I think one of the best things for me as a stan was to become one really late in Britney's career. Like y'all complain about dancing and the way she looks now but the Britney I was exposed to always was like that (I discovered who Britney was in 2007, I didn't know anything about Pop Music, I found out about her through seeing her face in every magazine in the line at Publix ). So Britney's fashion sense and looks never bothered me, and I always thought her dancing was really good . I remember when Womanizer came out, I was slayed by the video (I still think it's better than Toxic, and apparently so does Britney , she said in FTR that it was Toxic 2.0 but better), and I saw everyone in the comments bashing her dancing and I was all... because I thought it was really good. And the Femme Fatale Tour is my favorite tour of hers and I have no shame saying it. **** it. It's the only tour where I was able to stay awake when watching it.
I enjoy Britney at her worst more than y'all do when she's at her best. I've watched the Gimme More performance more than all her other performances. And I watched all the FF "promo" and liked it.
Why did people call her fat here? I honestly thought the outfit was really great and she looked good in it (from the front, that picture from the side (that shall not be mentioned) is... ). The only thing that really bothered me were the extensions. Her make-up was amazing and the blue contacts were really pretty on her.

I want Britney to work with Paul Oakenfold next era. Something like Faster Kill Pussycat would fit her like a glove.
I really want to see her go in a rockish, drum and bass direction. I don't want her to work with anyone she has worked with on her last 3. It's time for some new blood

And I completely understand if you weren't exposed to Britney before. You're only programmed to what she's delivered now. However I have been a legitimate Britney fan/"stan" since buying her first album in 3rd grade and watching/obsessing over throughout my childhood. So for the stans who only became interested in her after all the great times really should try to understand our criticisms, because the difference between now and then are drastic. You'll never get it since you're only exposed to the mediocrity of Britney's performance skills, appearance, etc. post-2004. But that's nothing to hold it against you, so don't hold it against us who were there from the start.

I mean, I've seen tons of Britney's performances from pre-2005 and I really thought that the dancing really wasn't as amazing as some of you made it out to be. Great choreography, nonetheless, but the only Britney routine that is difficult to perform is Slave 4 U (which she did really well at her most recent tour ) and MATM. Other than that, the DANCING is not out of this world. However, I understand that what most fans care about isn't necessarily the dancing but the energy and the spark in Britney's eyes. I think if Britney were to just show some more life on stage and not necessarily do HARDCORE choreo and sing live then her performance skills would be MUCH better.
I really enjoyed this particular performance because it seemed like Britney was having fun and she danced quite a lot in breakdown of the song (Too bad they dimmed the lighting ):
