I think you're overexaggerating, sis. Glee drags everyone. Britney is no different. And like I said in the Base thread, the episode was really shady -- but it was like lighthearted shade...not mean shade like they do with others (i.e. cheap shots at Lindsay Lohan).
And Brittany said it in the end --- Britney always comes back stronger.
And as for the songs, they already covered 'Stronger' for the first tribute. Those other songs wouldn't have fit into the episode.
At the end of the day, I'm just here for Britney's music being exposed to new generations.

|
Oh yeah, I forgot Stronger being covered -_______-. & I understand Glee shades everyone but really? You say you want Britney's music exposed to new generations but they exposed her meltdown more than her music. The songs were average and did not do Britney ANY justice. This episode was to celebrate Britney, and I understand they were celebrating her comeback but I feel like it could had been attacked from a different angle.

Alright, I just finished it.
It was a pretty good episode. The Brittany/Britney storyline was awesomely hilarious. I don't think anyone should take the shade too personally, it was all in fun, and they brought it back around by the end. I'm still crying over the Gimme More performance.
The best Britney cover was Oops. It WAS sexy. Runner up would be 3—their harmonies were beautiful tbh. On the negative, Crazy and Everytime sucked. They did not need to mix Crazy with Aerosmith's song, one. Two, they should have let Rachel sing Everytime. Not only is Everytime inappropriate for that one girl to sing to Puck's brother (she's literally only known him this episode ), but she does not have the vocals for it. Just BLAND.
And can we talk about Puck's brother? My God, so much CHEESE. I really cannot stand this Puck's brother storyline. Any aspect connected to Puck's brother has been so campy. Has Glee always been this cheesy?

In my opinion, taking it too far would be referencing the conservatorship. Everything about the breakdown was debatable taste...but the breakdown is ICONIC. Everyone knows about it, it's not like Glee was exposing any hidden secrets....and Britney's meltdown was a PUBLIC meltdown, it's pretty much free game.
As for the songs, I guess that comes down to personal opinion. I loved "3," Oops, and "Womanizer."

No one can replicate Britney. No one can do Britney justice. But they at least tried to make the songs new and interesting with a different arrangement.

The breakdown is iconic, but a horrible time on her life she probably doesn't like seeing over and over again. That's all, matter of opinion
I liked 3 but the made it so pg. Oops was the best of the night, Lea took that song to new heights with them vocals and the new beat was amazing. Britney should include that in her new tour! Lea never danced but the number was still entertainif

This is not what i expected at all. But i love the episode.
And Britney`s stans shouldn`t feel too offensive, i think Glee makes new generation know more about Britney`s music. I love the fact that they choose all the song from all of her studio album and 3 in the singel collection.

Such a great episode. I love it.
3, Oops, You Drive Me Crazy, Womanizer and Everytime slayed!
Brittany and Sam, a future couple?

Glee just isn't that good of a show. It's the cheesiest thing ever. Even Britney's first episode wasn't that good.
It has it's glimmering moments of humor (mostly from that Jane/Sue gym teacher lady), but other than that, it really isn't that good

i cant at yesternight's episode! i have such mixed feelings about it..
okay, one! why is glee back to episodes revolving around just putting in the songs!? i mean this episode was just song after song just pushed in that 40 minutes ... this is what i hated about season 3 the most... i get that its a musical comedy, but they need more tv show, less song covers! last episode was fun! 5 covers, well spaced and good timing! not like this one, 8-10 covers just coming in one after the other, with a line or a conversation in between!
and two! damn that brit shade was hillarious! i wouldnt have agreed if i was britney! and it was all a girl's idea to make a comeback? i mean thats no moral! i mean showing everything? the hair shaving(attempt), the gimme more performance, beating up interviewers! .. it was a little too much for my taste! :rollyes:
three! whats with santana and puck making like a cameo appearence?? i wanna see whats happening with characters other than rachel and curt!
santana, puck, mercedez, mike, finn, quinn(i hope they show more of her thn expected.. )
they are glee necessities, they cant just push them aside ..
and wasnt santana going to new york? why did she end up in a cheerleading uni? or do i remember the finale wrong? (santana talking to her mother in front of her locker, her mother agreeing her to go to new york and stuff??)

Santana future wasnt clear in the season 3 finale. I think they try to make it more real to put her in Kentucky with her cherios schorlarship first. but i think she may end up in New york soon.

Overly-sensitive fans will take issue with the episode because it touches upon Britney's struggles and doesn't present a straightforward case for her canonization. But I thoroughly enjoyed the episode and found it to be much stronger than last season's plotless puff piece. (I was very complimentary of "Britney/Brittany" when it aired, but, I mean, I had to be—I'm a Britney fan. Were there not a need to write to the sensitivity of his guest star, I do think this is the sort of tribute Murphy would have delivered the first time around.) And really, what good is a story of triumph or redemption if the adversity en route to the comeback is never acknowledged? Non-fans will undoubtedly appreciate this honest, flaws-and-all depiction of Britney. I would argue that the references to Britney's lowest points only serve to highlight her glorious return. In a roundabout way, the episode does Britney a number of favors.

I loved the episode.
And Britney is rising on iTunes so the return is greater than the loss.

I can't at how neglected she was last season.

This episode was soo blahhh
The covers were cheesy, the plot messy, the acting corny and I'm tired of there overuse of glee members quitting and leaving us in some predictable cliffhanger.
The other britney was soo much better...

I loved the episode tbh! The covers were great, and the meltdown was hilarious. Sure, it's shady as ****, but I agree that it was all lighthearted.
And I'm still not here for Maria's vocals. She's definitely no Rachel.

I think the ep is so-so. I care about Rachel's life rather than the recycled love story in High School that they used in three previous seasons.
About music, I think Oops is the best, runner up would be Crazy and 3 (however, the way they change the lyric makes this song awkward). I want more Tina's voice in Glee now
