Doesn't Britney have something like 5 or less number ones on the Hot 100? I don't understand how she has so many big, known singles, but so few number ones. It's like Mariah at the Grammys. What happened?

From "I'm A Slave 4 U" through "Toxic," Britney was banned from radio. So her songs didn't chart well in the United States.

She sold albums, not singles back then. She wasn't that big on the radio either, which heavily influenced the charts as there were no digital downloads.
From "I'm A Slave 4 U" through "Toxic," Britney was banned from radio. So her songs didn't chart well in the United States.
"Toxic" was so good, radio's had no choice but the play it. That ended the ban. Right when she could have songs that chart well with radio support, she has a breakdown.
She finally gets her **** together and "Womanizer" jumps from 96-1 on the Hot 100 within a week of charting...and the rest is history:

I hope Britney steals the Glee version of "Oops!" and perform that version on her next tour.

The ratings are coming again tomorrow. They went down from Wednesday to Thursday last week so it's a safe bet that the ratings for today will be lower than yesterday. It will be interesting to see how Glee does.

Oh, that's right, I remember hearing something about a radio ban.
What did she do to get banned?
