The X Factor USA will NOT start 1 day later in the UK
Bad news for people in the UK hoping to see Demi Lovato and Britney Spears’ judging debuts on The X Factor USA as early as next Thursday (September 13) – a peek at the TV listings indicates that ITV2 will NOT be doing what they did last year and screening it 18 hours behind the US broadcast.
Last year episodes featuring Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and (briefly) Cheryl Cole behind the judges’ desk were shown on US network Fox on Wednesdays and Thursdays, transferring to ITV2 on Thursdays and Fridays. The digital channel also operates a similar system for American Idol, showing it the day after it airs in its home country.
However, listings on the official ITV site show that there are NO plans to screen next Wednesday’s season premiere on Thursday… instead, they are showing Charlie And The Chocolate Factory again.
The corporation’s official announcement regarding its plans to screen the US version of the talent show are yet to be unveiled.
