It usually takes months after an artist started recording for the album to be finished.
For example, Demi started recording Unbroken in like March 2011, and it got released in September, 6 months later. Some songs were already recorded before TC. So taking into account that now she needs to record more songs, etc, it takes more time.

Usually when you hear about an artist starting to record new music for an album, the album is released at least half a year later, but usually even 8+ months later...

Now I have nothing to back this up, cause this is only something I noticed, Correct me if I'm wrong
