Neither one is risky. Both were tailored to the pop trends of the time.
The only risky album Xtina did was Back To Basics. Britney has always played it safe.

The queen of pop career's full of risks, and Britney time, and time again plays it safe. No wonder the world places X on a high pedestal in being an artist, a true 1 at that.

If ANYBODY "jumped on the bandwagon" it is Christina Aguilera with Bionic.

So much ignorance in the only legend in our generation's music. X's been doing things in dance, and electo from early on in her career which was also done before Brit.

Britney didn't run to the "in" producer. She was very comfortable with him. And Britney has been making dance music since the beginning of her career so she jumped on no train.

*Does she sing? YES! Does she sing every song live? NO! Let's not act like she hasn't ever sung live before, she has on multiple occasions. Rather you want to recognize it lies solely on you and your ignorance to her.
*Does she write her songs? Yes and No! No she doesn't write ALL her songs, but yes, she has written several songs. She has writing credits on every album she has released outside of BOMT. Did Whitney Houston write all her songs? No! Does that diminish her listing as an artist? No! She wrote more than half of ITZ herself and was listed first in each of those songs. You're so dramatic with the 10 writers listed in each song thing. Most of them have three tops. People always stated she doesn't write, yet they don't bother to look at her writing credits. It's absolutely ridiculous.
*Does she produce music? Hello she helped with the production from ITZ to present in her songs and even was Executive Producer for Blackout. She composed the piece, Everytime on a Piano while touring for DWAD Tour. We tend to forget the woman can play a musical instrument, but her naysayers have amnesia when it comes to such things.
*Does she direct her music videos? YES! She's been the SOLE reason she is an icon today. Britney was the one who came up with EVERYTHING for her BOMT video that catapulted her into fame. Not then Director, Nigel Dick, but Britney and he went on record himself saying so. She's been behind a critical voice and director of scenes in nearly all her major videos (BOMT, Crazy, Oops, Stronger, Toxic, Womanizer, Radar, Criminal, etc.)
People complain that her fans "overrate her," yet those same people are the ones that UNDERRATE HER. If we don't lay the facts down then HEW will? There are people in the world that some LOVE TO HATE PEOPLE/ORGANIZATIONS. (Ex. Britney, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, Madonna, at times Lady Gaga, MJ, etc.)

Does she dance? Nope.
Does she sing? I haven't seen any song of hers without excessive auto-tune since Shadow (2003).
Did she ever sing? In the studio, with some proper help, she could. Live? Never, her vocal performances have always been atroscious. And please don't tell me she used to be a good singer, because she never was. Now, in her defense, I think this is because of the excesive use of nasal voice (this strongly harms a voice), fault of her producers tbh.
Does she write her songs? Nope. Adding some lines does not count. Btw, has she ever? I think ITZ is the album where she was "the most involved in" yet her songs have like 5 - 10 writers each.
Does she produce music? Nope. She has never done.
Does she direct her music videos? Nope.
Britney has never been an artist. At most, she was a dancer (a very good dancer, btw). She used to be a solid entertainer. Her biggest weapon, besides her beauty and her marketing team, was her charisma. Which she has clearly lost. Is she scared of people or something?.

To say that Femme Fatale was not risky at all would be an understatement.Bionic might be categorised as dance/electropop but it tries to explore very distinct sides of th genre and the use of synthesizers and organic elements in that album is one of it's kind.Whether it worked or not is a different subject of matter, but CLEARLY it was highly risky.
Lol @ Femme Fatale actually having votes but I'm not surprised.

Xtina took many risks with Bionic so ya'll saying she was playing it safe can have a seat.
None of the ballads on the album are the traditional radio-friendly ballads we are used to from her . . . songs like You Lost Me, Lift Me Up, etc would have not been touched by radio in 2010. Monday Morning, My Girls, Bionic, I Am all provide different sides to Xtina and her voice. Yes she did have some mainstream songs but most were added at the end (which I still think was a huge mistake). You all use NMT as an example but that's one song from an entire album and either way Bionic is far from safe.
