Sometimes customers complain that the coffee isn't hot enough and demand a lot of stuff. Some want their fries/hash just out of the fryer when they know is really hot...
Reasons like this just shows what a person really is. Just looking for opportunities to get money without having to work for it... I injured my back and everyone was telling me to sue them but I chose not to. I cared more for my self, what would life be with money but with an injured back?
This time I'm on Bieber's side!

She wasn't stupid enough to drive with a hot cup of coffee on her lap. She parked just so she could put cream and sugar in the coffee.
And to be honest, I'm glad McDonald's lost. They spent big money trying to publicly embarrass Liebeck and distract everyone from the case. The evidence that came up during the case was pitiful; they asked for it. It was their own research that showed that so many of their customers were seriously burned by the coffee. It was their research that said that most people bought coffee to drink while they were driving (which contradicted their defense in the case). McDonald's head of quality control admitted that the temperature was dangerous, could cause third degree burns, and would damage the mouth and throat if consumed at serving temperature.
The lady wanted like $500,000 to help pay for her skin grafts and 2 years of medical care, not millions to get rich. I don't even care who's right and wrong in that case. McDonald's defense was pathetic, and ended up costing everyone involved way more money.
