The psychic has a more dangerous and useful ability than the cop. If I were a slasher a psychic has to die first to prevent anyone from knowing a killer's identity.

Also if the killer killed Allstar (if he is indeed the cop) back-to-back with the psychic it would arouse suspicion that the killer is within a select group of people who knows the identity of both the cop and psychic.

The killer took an extra step in preventing the death of the cop but proved a fatal mistake at killing the psychic early in the game.
