^ Really? Thats kind of cool, I didnt get to watch the show today. BUT...I think that our Boy Band and Britney years has scared America's tiny little mind. I see it all the time at my school. Everyone at my school has the attention span for a musical artist of about 2 weeks. I think our rabid obsession with artists in the past has lead to our inability for EVERYONE to get really into an artist and for EVERYONE to suppot them and scream for them and pass out for them...etc.

So, naturally, TRL viewership would decline.

Actually, it's not that cool. When Beyonce's song was announced, the screen switched to the plague. Then the video plays. Nothing special there.

Maybe if they had real rock like Crossfade, Hinder, 10 Years etc. instead of crap like Falloutboy etc. type of rock the ratings wouldn't have died. Ever since they stopped playing Korn and Limp Bizkit and the show became completely all pop/annoying songs I stopped watching and I'm sure many other rock fans did as well. The VJs are partially to blame because when Carson was around you had quality music and much variety, now it's all just radio airplay garbage.

Well at least Irreplaceable retired before the show gets cancelled. I guess that's the upside for me, if anything...

This is why I hate today's mainstream music these days. You've seen me bash guys like JT and Xtina but believe me, this is why TRL is going to be cut by the end of the year and their dominance isn't helping....if they don't get fresh new faces on, it will be gone for good.

To those who've told me to shut up, you need to look at the facts seriously. Your average music fan will only listen to mainstream music and nothing else because they think it's the best thing ever (which infact it's not).

Anyways, I agree with the principal of it though. Rock does need a place on TRL, but whatever, it's never going to happen. That's why I said MTV just needs to go with three countdown shows.. a top 10 rap countdown, top 10 rock countdown, and top 10 pop countdown.
