It helped/helps me alot. I've been going through some stuff concerning my sexuality and gender and trying to figure it all out and listening to BTW has let me get away from all that confusion.

By coincidence, came out to my mother a year before the album was released, and she didn't understand. I told her I never chose, I was just born gay. Next thing I know Gaga is belting the lyrics to her upcoming single during the VMAs. So the theme just happen to fit perfectly with my life at the time. The album was more relevant to my life than I realized, in so many, many ways. I don't believe the album "helped" me as I was already on this path...It was just a nice reminder or reinforcement, I guess.

I appreciate the message behind Born This Way, but the song of hers that helped
me the most was Just Dance (as weird as it sounds). I was going through a rough
time back then, and I really just wanted to ****ing dance. Then soon after that, I
got into making electronic dance music for some reason, when I used to like rock.

HOWEVER. I still jam to it.
