All these reviews don't mean ****. They are not "reviewing" the song, they are "reviewing" the pairing of Chris Brown and Rihanna.
So really this means nothing to me or the general public.
Both songs have been receiving great impact from all the people around me.
Radio stations are spinning both songs, Twitter is still buzzing over both songs.
I wouldn't even call a few selective negative reviewers "the media". The real media, the one that actually has influence, is reporting this neutrally. Noone's really crying over it besides ATRL and the like.
Yeah, I just read the write up in the NYT, and it was very fair and balanced, even praising the BC remix as the superior of the two.
